This 24 kW ground-mounted solar array generates approximately 31,183 kWh of clean energy annually, offsetting 19% of the Illinois fire protection district’s electricity consumption. The municipally owned system reduces carbon emissions by an estimated 28 tons each year—comparable to avoiding more than 3,000 gallons of gasoline.
